What We Do

The Photo Arts Club at Spokane Falls Community College is a supplemental club to the 2 year AA-S Photography program. Students involved meet every 2 weeks to teach new techniques, hear from industry professionals in the area, and share each other's work! We hold contests and challenges to create team building and student involvement in photography outside of the classroom.

PAC puts up 2 galleries a year: the library gallery at the downtown Spokane Public Library, and the graduate gallery at the Kress Gallery located on the third floor of the Riverpark Square mall.

For the library gallery, every student in the club has the opportunity to submit and get their photo chosen to show for a one month in a collaborative club wide gallery at the library. The show starts on the first friday of the month and runs through!

The graduate gallery is also a one month long gallery showing, and it displays all of the students who are graduating the program's best work over their time at the Falls. This gallery shows at the end of the school year in May.

In the past, the PAC club has also taken about 10 people on a trip every spring. These people are chosen based on amount of club involvement. This year, we are trying something completely new and different: a shootout! This involves taking the entire program and all of the equipment we own to a location for a week, and teaching classes at that location, while running photo shoots throughout the whole week. Second year students will shoot, and first year students will assist photo shoots.

PAC is one of the most fun and energetic clubs to join at SFCC. We are always striving to get people involved and creative with photography!
